Overview
The natural gas based hydrogen preparation consists reforming gas preparation from natural gas and hydrogen purification. First, the natural gas that has been compressed and desulfurized is mixed with water vapor, and under the effect of nickel catalyst at a temperature ranging between 820 and 950, is transformed into reforming gas comprised of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. The reforming gas may undergo shift reaction, in which the carbon monoxide is shifted to hydrogen, and become shift gas. Finally, the reforming gas or shift gas is subject to the PSA process, thus producing hydrogen with high purity.
Natural gas based hydrogen preparation is a traditional technique. It used be used in occasions requiring large supply of hydrogen, such as those requiring a supply of more than 5000m3/h. In view of the fact that Chinese hydrogen users are decentralized and does not require large volume of hydrogen supply, we have developed the natural gas based hydrogen preparation technique, which features low investment and low energy consumption and suits very well the occasions requiring only small and medium volume of hydrogen supply. In regions that have rich natural gas resource, this technique is the best choice. Our company has installed a number of these devices for our domestic and international customers and transferred the technique.
