New to the ALIKA range are products for protecting plants from adverse autumn and winter weather conditions. The ground and root system need protection from the cold and wind, with lots of plants such as camellias, azaleas, bamboo, various herbs and of Mediterranean origin, not to mention hardy fruit and ornamental trees being susceptible to ground frosts. By using a round coir mat you can create a natural insulating layer on the ground that protects the root system. The coir mat is easy to cut, enabling you to lay it as close as possible to the ground, providing bushes and young trees optimum protection from the cold.
Pot and container plants can suffer severely from the effects of the winter because they lack the natural regulatory effect of the ground. So when faced with permanent frost conditions the root system can very quickly freeze. A protective jacket around the pots and containers prevents the roots from freezing.
