DTV RF Repeater relay signal via radio frequency wave of the same frequency with the TV transmitter
The DTV RF Repeater (RFR) has a simple structure to transparently convey and amplify the wireless signal (at the same frequency) between the digital TV transmitter and TV receivers.
The repeater is working as a relay between the TV transmitter and receivers during the broadcasting of digital TV signal. It receives low-power TV signal from the TV transmitter via the Donor Antenna, linearly amplifies the signal and then retransmits it via the Coverage Antenna (or Indoor Signal Distribution System) to the weak/blind coverage area.

FeaturesAluminum-alloy casing with IP65 protection has high resistance to dust, water and corroding; Signal of up to 4 channels can be amplified simultaneously; Linear power amplifier with high gain and low noise is adopted; Filter with high selectivity and low insertion loss eliminates out-of-band interference; RS-232 ports provide links to a notebook for local supervision and to the built-in wireless modem to communicate with the NMS (Network Management System) that can remotely supervise repeater’s working status and download operational parameters to the repeater. ApplicationTo expand signal coverage or fill signal blind area where digital TV signal is weak or unavailable.
Outdoor: Airports, tourism regions, golf courses, tunnels, factories, mining districts, villages, highways… Indoor: Hotels, exhibition centers, basements, shopping malls, offices, parking lots, …The DTV RFR is mainly applicable to such case:
The repeater can find an installation place which can meet the requirement of isolation to avoid self-oscillation; Directional coverage for highways, urban districts, tunnels, subways. In comparison with FSR (frequency shift repeater) and FOR (fiber optic repeater), the RFR has the following benefits and disadvantages:
Easy to build the installation site; Lower cost of equipment and site-building; Retransmission delay is shorter. | Inappropriate installation may cause self-oscillation; The Coverage Antenna shall face against the Donor Antenna, which limits the coverage angle; High signal noise may be introduced since the Donor Antenna picks up signal from the air. |
